FREDERICTON, December 21th, 2020- The Agricultural Alliance of New Brunswick (AANB) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jessica McKenna as its new Workforce Coordinator, effective December 14, 2020.

“We are very happy to have Jessica as the new coordinator to implement the AANB’s Workforce Development Strategy which was launched in the spring. Jessica brings a vast array of skills and knowledge relating to the labour market, and her experience as a career and professional development specialist will be a valuable asset for the position. She has also worked for government and has contacts with many stakeholders that will be essential for this job,” states Anna Belliveau, CEO of the AANB.

Jessica obtained her Masters in Educational Psychology with a concentration on Human Relations, from Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, has a Bachelor of Education from the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Prince Edward Island. This experience and training has offered incredible opportunities to collaborate with non-profit organizations, and local industries such as the Forest Products Marketing Board for York, Sunbury and Charlotte Counties.

The Agricultural Alliance is New Brunswick’s general farm organization, promoting the social and economic interests of all NB farmers. Prior to assuming the position of Workforce Coordinator, Jessica McKenna worked as a consultant and advisor for various organizations such as the Department of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour, the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development, and the New Brunswick Community College.

“I’m eager to start bridging the employment gap we’ve seen highlighted during the COVID-19 pandemic, but that has truly always been a challenge for producers and industry partners in this field. By shining a light on the incredible agricultural community and the profound impact it has on the lives of all New Brunswickers, we can bring a new awareness to this industry for local, national and international growth,” says Jessica McKenna, newly appointed Workforce Development Coordinator for the Agricultural Alliance of New Brunswick.
