FREDERICTON, May 6th, 2021- The Agricultural Alliance of New Brunswick (AANB) is pleased to announce the appointment of Likhita Potluri as its new Environmental Farm Plan coordinator, effective March 15th, 2021.

“We’re thrilled to have Likhita join us as the new Environmental Farm Plan (EFP) coordinator. Her experience and extensive knowledge of various environmental management practices is certainly an asset to the delivery of the Environmental Farm Plan program. Likhita is working alongside current EFP facilitator, John Russell, and together, they make a dynamite team assisting New Brunswick producers with their plans and setting up sustainable agriculture goals that will benefit the future generation of producers,” states Anna Belliveau, CEO of AANB.

Likhita obtained a Master of Environmental Management degree from University of New Brunswick in Fredericton, New Brunswick and has a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada in the province of Andhra Pradesh in India.

Prior to assuming the position of Environmental Farm Plan coordinator, Likhita worked with Natural Resources Canada where they conducted research on climate change adaptation in forest-dependent communities in New Brunswick. She also worked with the Nature Trust of NB in developing a conservation plan template to help them form a methodology of prioritizing the land and species at risk conservation.

Her academic training and professional experience of working with Natural Resources Canada, Nature Trust of New Brunswick and Canadian Red Cross helps her in bringing out the best of both technical and management roles in her new role with AANB.

I believe that there is so much that you can learn from them while educating them on Environmental Farm plan and its importance in sustainable agriculture. I am excited to progress the relationship between the producers and Agricultural Alliance.,” says Likhita Potluri, newly appointed Environmental Farm Plan coordinator for the Agricultural Alliance of New Brunswick.
